About The Castle Angling Club
Castle Angling Club was established 1909 and has grown over the year to the well established club we know and love today. With over six miles of fishable water, abundant native brown trout, a good head of coarse species (see home page for more info'), sea trout and salmon. The fact that we have a strong membership means that the club can fund regular stockings - two this year as opposed to the annual one-off of past years - makes this spate river a delight to fish.
Membership numbers now stand well in excess of 200 to cover juniors, full adult members and our more mature stalwart honorary members. During the summer months the club runs well organised bus trips to some of Scotland's premier trout fisheries. Bus costs are pegged at a full adult price of £12 irrespective of distance and members are advised to book in advance. Bookings can be made by calling into Rods 'n Reels. Discounts apply for senior members and juniors. The intention on bus trips is to run them for the benefit of members and to simply cover costs...
The club is always on the lookout for new members and further details about what membership entails can be obtained by sending an email by means of the enquiry section on this site, or by popping into Rods 'n' Reels in Johnstone where the attentive staff will be only too pleased to offer friendly advice.
